Instead of celebrating a forthcoming disappearance of the book, this project for a media center and library in France integrates in a single space traditional way of storing information like printed matters with technology of storage and retrieval of information.

The walls of the building are conceived as a stacking of glass and stone blocks, which are both structural system for the building and shelving surfaces for the media.

By storing information support on glass shelves and books on stone shelves, the library envelope changes according to the available content of the library and defines an uncertain boundary between its

interior and the park outside.
